A Great Day
Salmon River
Water Temp: 40ºF     Flow: 350 cfs

We fished lower river, finding a lot of open space and places to stretch out and get into a good rhythm. We found some nice big browns and fresh steelhead. The takes were aggressive and fish had the energy for long runs and strong battles.

Egg patterns and streamers worked well. We stuck with light tippets and soft presentations in a low, clear water. Fish were found in broken water, more so than pools.

The water temperature has dropped quite a bit in the past week. Look for the fishing to continue to change into the winter patterns once the water gets in the upper 30's.
