Good Winter
Salmon River
Water Temp: 32ºF     Flow: 750 cfs

This winter has proved to be really productive. Most anglers are catching doing well, and the river has fish in from top to bottom. Seasoned anglers are finding fish in normal holding water for this time of year.

We are finding the fish to bigger than average, just like the salmon were. A lot of males in the river right now, with more females showing up. This time of year, a lot of males start their transformation into color shows, with bright gill plates and red stripes. Females get deep in the belly and are real brutes too.

Of course, now is the time to book for amazing steelhead fishing. It's only going to get better as we get closer to warming temps and active fish begin to spawn.

For a little more seclusion, now is better than later.

Glo bugs, estaz, buggers, and nymphs continue to be good flies to choose.
