Steelhead and Browns Make a Showing
Salmon River
Water Temp: 55ºF     Flow: 500 cfs

As we progress through the season, steelhead and browns begin to come into play. There are increasing numbers of trout being caught in the lower river and still to an extent in the Fly Zones.

There are a lot of salmon digging redds, which means the steelhead will be setting up behind the spawners picking up eggs and loose nymphs.

Down river, the steelhead take egg patterns (glo bugs and estaz), rubber legged stone flies, and swung buggers and streamers.

We are targeting all species of fish right now and doing well on foot and in the boat. The higher flows have given us greater access to more sections of river than last year, and our clients are doing well.

We still have a some dates for Fall Steelhead and now would be a great time to get into the action of bright chrome.
