|First Salmon of the Year|
|Water Temp: 66ºF Flow: 335 cfs|
|We fished the Salmon River this weekend, for about half a day on Saturday and Sunday. In the early morning, a few fish would come in, but not many and in small numbers, one here, two there. By 9:30 a.m., the sun was up and the fish were off. I'm sure some more fish came through during the day, but they were so few and far between, we lost ambition and called it a day.
We visited several fly shops to get the skinny on what's happening in the lake. We got mixed reports, from some fish in the estuary to nothing substantial staging at the mouth. I'm guessing the fish are just starting to organize and migrate to the mouth. The next weather or water event could get this rolling. One report said the fish were up near Sandy Pond.
We are still taking reservations for this Fall and Spring. So give us a call to arrange a trip. Thanks.. we'll see you on the river.
