|BWOs and Algae|
|West Branch Delaware|
|Water Temp: 48ºF Flow: 775 cfs|
|The West Branch got a bump in flow, which brought colder water and lots of floating algae downstream with it. As usual, the fish were a little off, but some BWOs and Sulfurs came up to save the day.
I fished in a couple different spots to find working fish. Although smaller than average, these fish provided ample entertainment and were still selective in their feeding. Small BWOs in size 20-22 were in order on 7x tippet. I lost quite a few fish during the fight, due to algae clinging to knots and leader. Awe well, the long distance release didn't hurt my fun.
Couple more weekends and I'll be scoping out the lower Salmon River for early salmon. Can hardly wait to look around and see those big fish finning in the summer waters. For now, I am content chasing browns on tiny flies.
