|West Branch Delaware River|
|Water Temp: 48ºF Flow: 370 cfs|
|For our first trip down to the West Branch this year, we found several fish sipping lazily in the soft currents. Size 16 and 14 Rusty Spinners fooled a couple nice sized browns. Caddis were fluttering here and there, but the fish weren't too focused on them. The Hendricksons are all but over, but Mahagany Duns in 18-16 were were in decent numbers as well.
This is the latest we have ever started down on the Delaware. Why? Well, the steelhead fishing this spring was unbelievable. As of Thursday and Friday of last week, fish are still in the hatchery and there are still fish on redds in the fly zones. That means.. there is still time for drop backs. If you still have the steelhead bug, this is the time, to swing BIG streamers and buggers in obvious tail outs mid to down river.
We look forward to another great year on the Salmon this fall. You can always book your trip now for prime September and October dates. Don't forget about our new paypal.com service.
