|West Branch Delaware River|
|Water Temp: 56ºF Flow: 320 cfs|
|The West Branch proved to be another difficult battle. A hatch never got going in earnest, so fish rose here and there, off and on, without much rhythm. We did manage to get a couple fish each, on size 20 CDC tan caddis emergers, and size 18 CDC Sulfur Duns. One fish was taken on a BWO emerger as well.
The river had a lot of green, thick algae in the water which got caught on the fly often. It made for some trying times, when a fish would begin to rise, and your fly would come back with slime on it, time and time again.
We are gearing up for the Salmon River, busy at the vise and preparing our supplies for the Fall. Its an anxious time of the year for everyone, as they wait for that first run.
We have some days left this Fall, give us a call at (518) 527-7104 to schedule a trip, or drop us an email.
