|Bad Luck in Threes|
|West Branch Delaware River|
|Water Temp: 52ºF Flow: 700 cfs|
|Ever have one of those days? Well, today was one of them. Forgot the camera, fried the cellphone, and found, unexpectedly, a hole in the waders.
Other than the day of misfortune, we were able to catch quite a few browns. Nothing huge, but plenty of hard fighting, healthy 10-14 inch fish. A lot of them were uncharacteristically jumping several times, lots of leaps out of these spunky fish.
Small sulfur emergers and duns were the ticket. Toward evening, a sulfur spinner worked as well. CDC flies worked better than the poly wing counterparts.
Time is getting close for the Salmon River. Reports have some skamania steelhead in the river and the ever elusive Atlantics. There are a few more summer releases planned.
August 4, 5 750cfs
September 1st & 2nd (Labor Day Weekend) 750cfs
These ought to bring in a few more steelhead. Last year, we got our first summer fish the last weekend of August. It's not too late to book your Fall trip.
