|Mix of Steelhead and Browns|
|Water Temp: 41ºF Flow: 900 cfs|
|The lower flow made fishing easier for most people on the river. We saw numerous people fighting fish and did well ourselves.
Unseasonably warm temperatures, combined with a Holiday Weekend, brought out the anglers. The river was a busy place this weekend, but most people we talked to, had success and enjoyed being out.
The busy weekend had to be a good shot in the arm for local businesses, after over 30 days of 1800 cfs kept many anglers away.
We found a mix of chrome and darker steelhead, plus brown trout. Best flies, remain woolly buggers and egg patterns, with stone flies working here and there as well.
Even at 900 cfs, you have to work the current breaks and softer pockets to find resting fish, willing to take. Don't be afraid to work water right off shore before wading in. We saw lots of people wading where they should have been casting. Broken water, knee deep, will hold fish.
See you on the water.
