Stream Report

Good Fishing, Will it Last?
Salmon River
Water Temp: 54ºF     Flow: 500 cfs

This report spans the days of October 3-9.

Fly fishermen targeting salmon are finding the most action between Pineville and Altmar. The last few days, the lower river is seeing some decent movement of fish, but not in huge numbers. Each day, more and more salmon enter the river and make their way to the spawning grounds above Ellis Cove. The fish are still aggressive and "tight." Eggs have not started dropping yet. Sure, some here and there, but the fish just aren't on the redds yet.

Anglers targeting steelhead have been doing really well in the lower river. Chromers are entering the Salmon each day, target them with egg patterns and streamers. As the salmon get on the redds, fish below them with nymphs and eggs to pick up steelhead.

We will be posting photos here and in our Gallery soon.

Tight Lines,
Joe and Sinbad
