Stream Report

( Water Hotline Be Careful With The Info )
Salmon River
Water Temp: 40ºF     Flow: 2500 cfs

This report is for Thurs. the 15th. - Mon. the 19th. As for the " Headline ", I am not sure how Reliant energy is coming up with the math that predicts the flows they are telling us, But I can tell you the salmon river is running at 2500 c.f.s. ( Not 1000) If anything the flow went up from the 1500 c.f.s. forecast as of last Thursday. For those of you who might say, that must include run-off, their is no run-off where I spent my time on the water. Be careful in spring flows, to look at what you see, an not just what you hear the water is suppose to be. As for the fishing. Lots of drop-backs are entering the river from beaver dam brook as we speak. There are also good numbers of un-molested, fresh Steelies moving up to spawn. We also managed a few nice Brownies. Best Fly;s Wooly Buggers, in black & olive. Egg patterns in red & white.
